Retaining dates

When a task becomes parent, it loses its own start- and finish dates and that's all good. But if the user undoes the indentation, the dates previously set for the task that isn't parent anymore are lost and our users are experiencing data loss because of it. We're trying to alter the code so that the dates are retained, but we're not succeeding. Do you have any suggestions? It needs to work with both indent/outdent and the drag&drop positioning.

Magnus,

We will consider persisting the width of a bar before it becomes a parent and reapply it on it after it turns back to a task bar, in a future release.
Thanks & Regards,
Rajagopal.

Ok, but please consider it prioritized. Data loss is not a minor issue in real life. Another thing to note is that the ProgressPercent and PredecessorIndices settings are lost in this scenario as well. These also need to be restored.

Magnus,

The task losing it's Progress, predecessor and start and end times after it becomes a parent task is similar to the behavior implemented in MS Project. In any case, we will add this to our list of Feature Requests we will support in a future release.
Thanks & Regards,
Rajagopal.
